Thermostat Calibration and Comfort

We verify your thermostat is accurate and adjust settings to maximize comfort while reducing energy costs.

Electrical System Safety Check

Tight connections and functional components like capacitors and relays are inspected to ensure safe, long-lasting operation.

Before Calling for Heat Pump or Air Conditioning Service

We’ve created a quick checklist to help you troubleshoot common issues before picking up the phone for a service call. Many problems are simple to resolve, and addressing them yourself can save time, money, and the awkwardness of paying for something easy to fix. That said, if you’re ever unsure or uncomfortable performing these checks, it’s always best to call a certified technician for help.

Check the Thermostat

Ensure it’s set to the correct mode (heating or cooling) and temperature. Double-check your settings to avoid any accidental misconfigurations—it’s a surprisingly common issue.

Look for Ice Buildup

If the indoor unit shows signs of ice, turn the system off immediately and check for blocked filters or registers. If the issue persists, call for professional assistance.

Verify the Power Supply

Check your circuit breakers, fuses, and outdoor disconnect switch for any issues. Power fluctuations or tripped breakers can interrupt your system.

Examine Indoor Panel Breakers

Centrally ducted heat pumps often have panel-mounted breakers that may trip. Reset them as needed and ensure they are functioning correctly.

Inspect the Air Filter

Dirty filters can restrict airflow and cause the system to malfunction. Replace or clean them regularly to maintain optimal performance.

Check for Water Overflow

Excess water near the air handler could indicate a clogged condensate line. If comfortable, detach and flush the line; otherwise, call a technician.

Reset Error Codes

For ductless mini-splits, power cycle the breaker (off for 2–3 minutes, then back on) to clear error codes or flashing lights.
